Join us in raising a dram

This is the 9th year that (formally), the third Saturday in the month of May, has been celebrated as World Whisky Day. That means we get to add something we are so passionate about as a brand, to our calendar year. However, this year brings unprecedented circumstances, we can't hold events or join tastings but, that doesn't stop us from raising a dram.
You may have seen the mention of 'The A Team Takeover' on our social media. As tribute to World Whisky Day, this week we have dedicated the episode to our second release of Highland Rye Single Grain Scotch Whisky. Arbikie Highland Rye Whisky is currently the only one of its kind in the world.

Highland Rye was laid first down in 2015 and, after being aged in charred American oak barrels for four years, a selection of casks have been chosen for the finish of our second release. Taking you back through the unique flavour profile brings us to the finish of Arbikie Highland Rye, having be enriched in Armagnac barrels. 

The purpose of the Armagnac cask is to create a unique finish to our rye whisky. With passion for flavour and creativity we always challenge ourselves to produce something different. This cask type gives our whisky a fantastically layered and complex character, enriched with a flavour profile of dates, apricot and caraway.

Records show that rye grain was used in scotch whisky production until the late 19th century. It is this tradition we have revived. Using rye grown on our own estate, we have created a characterful Rye Scotch Whisky that is bold, exciting and full of flavour and proudly ‘single grain’ sourced here on Arbikie Farm. 

Ingredients for all our spirits are planted, sown, grown and harvested within arms- length of our distillery. We believe premium spirits can only be created from the highest quality ingredients and we are in the enviable position of being able to oversee impeccable standards every step of the way.


The Highlands to Manhattan 

This is our 4 year old Highland Rye Whisky, served as a Perfect Manhattan by the talented team at Panda and Sons.

60ml Arbikie Highland Rye
12.5ml Sweet vermouth
12.5ml Extra dry vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish with Maraschino cherry

On Saturday the Arbikie team are tuning in at 8pm for the 'Big Fat Whisky Quiz' (Online of course). Joining Blair Bowman, the founder of World Whisky Day, and his friends for a 'lockdown' version of their popular Big Fat Whisky Quiz.
