KIRSTY TALKS POTATO VODKA

KIRSTY TALKS POTATO VODKA

There is very little published material on how to make potato vodka and potatoes are much harder to work with than grain. Most vodka is made with grain as it is cheaper and easier to make it this way. It has meant that we have developed our own recipe for Arbikie Vodka which is made from potatoes grown on the farm.

I am delighted that everyone who has tried it has said it has a smooth, slightly sweet and velvety taste.
The great thing about Arbikie deciding to make premium potato vodka is that we have all the ingredients available on the farm, including the three varieties of potatoes that we use to make the vodka. These are Maris Piper, King Edwards and Cultra.

I love the whole process of distillation from the surprising scent of green apples when the potatoes start the process of fermentation to the smooth and velvety taste of the end product.

I drink my spirits straight over ice. I believe in keeping it simple and letting the quality show through. I know that other people will enjoy using Arbikie Vodka as the basis for an iconic Martini or to develop some amazing cocktail recipes.
