Originating in the US this cocktail became popular in the 1950’s when Vodka was the new spirit on the block. As with many of the first vodka cocktails they were an adaptation of a gin cocktail replaced with a vodka base.

Originating in the US this cocktail became popular in the 1950’s when Vodka was the new spirit on the block. As with many of the first vodka cocktails they were an adaptation of a gin cocktail replaced with a vodka base.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces premium vodka
3/4 ounce dry vermouth
2 dashes bitters (optional)
Lemon twist or 3 olives for garnish
Method:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
To Serve:
Garnish with a lemon twist or olives.
